The Wooden Mirror is an example of interactive design that uses old and new, pixel and physical, technology and craft. It's like a Sparkletts truck with artificial intelligence.
I've always been fond of Sparkletts trucks.
Illusion, magic, and handiwork

i dont get how it works
It's like how you can look into your iSight and see yourself on your computer screen. Only instead of a computer screen, it's a grid of wooden squares hooked up to motors.
A little camera records the darks and lights of the person in front of it and the wooden squares rotate to become darker or lighter.
whoa! this is amazing... its the same kind of amazement i had the first time I saw one of those 3D magic eye posters.
(just gave me an idea for my next post...)
